Aberdeen is of course the team where Alex Ferguson began his managerial legacy back in the 1980s. The club has moved on a lot since then, and are now slowly working towards winning the Scottish Premier League title.

They may give a debut to new signing Mark Kerr. The midfield man joined the club from fellow rivals Dundee United.

Manchester United have so far been quiet in the transfer market when it comes to players being brought into the club. The pre season transfer speculation has all revolved around wether or not Cristiano Ronaldo will depart for Real Madrid. Ronaldo though is injured for the next few months so will not play any part in this match.

Manchester United are expected to field a fairly mixed side, giving an opportunity to some of the fringe and youth players – but you could well see some of the “stars” of the double winning side in the line up at some stage.
