Arsenal prepared for this game by collecting a well deserved 2-0 victory over FC Twente In the Champions League qualifying round on Wednesday.

Despite being on top of the game for the most part, Arsenal were struggling in front of goal, but finally made the breakthrough when Robin van Persie’s free-kick deceived the home defence and Gallas bundled home.

Then during the final ten minutes of the game Theo Walcott showed signs of his understanding with Adebayor when he cooley set him up to poke the ball home for the second goal. to put them firmly in control of the tie.

Arsene Wenger will need to make a decision on the team he fields as Cesc Fabregas may not be available, and young midfielders Aaron Ramsey and Denilson struggled to make an impact in the match.

Last season West Brom were a joy to watch in the Championship and were deservedly promoted. Since then, they have added Scott Carson, Gianni Zuiverloon, Marek Cech and Abdoulaye Meite to their squad, along with several young players.

Manager Tony Mowbary though will be under no illusions and will know that his side will need to be at their best to survive this season.

West Brom have a few injury concerns going into the game, with Neil Clement definitely missing the action due to a knee injury. However Abdoulaye Meite will make his debut following his transfer from Bolton.

Other players unavailable for selection include Luke Moore, Robert Koren and Gianni Zuiverloon.
