Blackburn Rovers V Manchester United Live Online as Man United look to go one step closer to retaining the league title

Last Sunday Blackburn were outclassed by Liverpool at Anfield and lost the game 3-1 on the days early kick off. With the score at 3-0, Roque Santa Cruz hooked in a late reply for Blackburn, who were well beaten.

After the game Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes was disappointed at the performance commenting “Our downfall was misplaced passes in dangerous areas. Liverpool have some quality players and they were able to pick us off”.

This is Blackburn Rovers eighth and last meeting of the season with a member of the league’s much touted big four teams. They have not won any of the previous seven, and lost the last four.

Blackburn will be confident that they will be able to gain a point in the match, having only lost once to Manchester United at Ewood Park since 1999.

Victory for Manchester United over Blackburn will mean that they can retain the Premier League title next Saturday by beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Last Sunday Manchester United took a huge step closer to retaining the Premier League trophy with a 2-1 victory over Arsenal. With United one nil down, Manchester United levelled through a twice-taken Cristiano Ronaldo penalty after William Gallas had handled in the Arsenal box. Owen Hargreaves won it with 20 minutes to go with a superb 25-yard free-kick.

In the reverse fixture played in November, Manchester United recorded a 2-0 victory with both goals scored by Ronaldo within the space of two minutes.
