Yesterday Tottenham recorded a 2-0 victory over Scottish League Champions Celtic. Darren Bent continued his impressive scoring run, finding the net after twenty five minutes when he latched on to a poor back-pass from Celtic’s Paul Hartley and rounded keeper Artur Boruc to net. New signing David Bentley, who arrived from Blackburn midweek sealed the victory with a goal ten minutes from full time.
The fifteen million pound winner winger came off the bench at the interval and rolled home a close range effort.
On July 28th, Tottenham recorded an impressive 5-1 victory at Championship club Norwich City. An own goal by defender Stefanovic, and four goals from Darren Bent rounded off an impressive performance.
The summer has seen plenty of players departing Tottenham, including former England number one goalkeeper Paul Robinson to Blackburn and Steed Malbranque for Sunderland.
Fan favourite Robbie Keane has also left the club, having joined Liverpool and many believe that his former strike partner Berbatov will also follow the trend and not be plying his trade at White Hart Lane when the season begins.
