Former Rangers manager Alex McLeish says Celtic can still retain the SPL title but conceded that their Old Firm rivals remain in pole position.

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scored in second-half injury time of last week’s Old Firm derby to seal a 2-1 win for Celtic and re-ignite their championship hopes.

Celtic go into the game two points ahead of Rangers, but the visitors have three games in hand.

In team news, Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura is expected to shrug off an ankle, while defender Gary Caldwell and midfielder Scott Brown are both available again after suspension.

In the build up to the game, Walter Smith has criticised Celtic’s Peter Lawwell over his claims that the integrity of the SPL would be harmed by an extension to the season. These claims were made due to Rangers facing the task of having to play four games in eight days.

In team news for Rangers. Carlos Cuellar and Kevin Thomson are suspended, while a further six players including Lee McClloch, DaMarcus Beasley and Chris Burke are rules out with injury.
