Chelsea v Arsenal as both sides look to continue their championship bid at the expense of the opposition.

On Wednesday Chelsea saw a 3-1 lead slip against Tottenham in a game that ended 4-4. Didier Drogba headed Chelsea in front before Woodgate equalised. Goals by Michael Essien and Joe Cole then put Chelsea two goals ahead.

Despite Joe Cole’s second of the game to make it for three, a freak deflection on the back of Carvalho gave Robbie Keane a chance to equalise, which he did with just two minutes to go.

That late equaliser denied Chelsea their chance to be level with Arsenal on sixty seven points, Chelsea now trail the Gunners by two points having played the same number of games.

That draw left Chelsea boss Avram Grant frustrated, but in a post match interview told the press that they were “still in the title race and will continue fighting.”

Last Saturday Kolo Toure’s late strike salvaged a point for Arsenal against valiant Middlesbrough.

Ex-Gunner Jeremie Aliadiere gave the visitors a shock lead when he converted Tuncay Sanli’s superb cross. But with just five minutes remaining Toure leapt highest to head in Cesc Fabregas’ corner from the right.

That result ment that Arsenal have now not won in four league games and have seen themselves slip behind Manchester United in the title race. Although there are likely to be a few more twists and turns before the end of the season, Arsene Wenger will know that his side need to find their form again sooner rather than later.
