In their last fixture Derby saw Frank Lampard score four times as Chelsea thrashed them 6-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Derby battled well for the first half hour before loosing to Chelsea’s brilliance. At 6-0 down, Derby County scored with barley their only shot on target when Miller’s pass was deflected towards his own goal by Michael Essien, falling kindly for David Jones to beat Cudicini from close-range.

The scoreline was a little unexpected after the recent improvements in the way Derby County have been playing. They have collected three draws out of their last six league games.

They are however ten points adrift at the bottom and fifteen away from safety!

In their last Premier League fixture Manchester United eased to three points against a poor Fulham side. Owen Hargeaves gave Man United the lead with a free kick, Park Ji Sung and an own goal by Davis completed the scoring.

Man United did of course loose in the FA Cup last week and many expect that to inspire Alex Ferguson’s team to victory. Wayne Rooney will be looking to score his 50th league goal for the club.

In the reverse fixture Manchester United won the game 4-1 with goals scored by Giggs, Tevez and Ronaldo.
