Mark Hughes will have to prove his credentials to the Man City supporters, who were fond of their now departed manager Sven Goran Eriksson. Last season Man City got off to a superb start, but lost all form and slipped down the table, Mark Hughes will need to improve on that to please the long suffering supporters.

The squad will be without Greek striker Georgios Samaras, who has left for Celtic wjere he spent some of last season on loan, or Brazilian Geovanni, who has signed a two year deal at Hull City.

EB/Streymur themselves have an interesting story to tell when it comes to their history. The club was formed following the merger of Eiðis Bóltfelag and Streymur in 1993, and have since risen from the depths of the Faroe football pyramid to the Formuladeildin, which is the Faroe Islands’ equivalent of the Premier League.

EB/Streymur have won the national cup on two consecutive occasions and enter the Uefa Cup qualifiers for the second year in a row.
