The Norwegian league does not begin until the end of March and Brann’s lack of match fitness ultimately told.

Also on the scoresheet in the second leg were Andy Johnson (two goals) and Mikkel Arteta.

However their build up has been marred by the news that they will face Uefa disciplinary proceedings after the behaviour of fans during their clash in Bergen in February.
