England travel to Stade de France for a friendly match against the 1998 World Cup Winners France.

Much of the talk leading up to the game is over whether or not David Beckham will finally earn his 100th cap for his country, joining the likes of Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Billy Wright and Peter Shilton.

There is good news for the squad after all twenty three players reported for training following the weekend’s action. On Saturday the squad was reduced from thirty players with Gabriel Agbonlahor, Ashley Young, Shaun Wright-Phillips, David Wheater and Jermain Defoe being left out of the final squad.

Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney both trained with the rest of the England squad on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against France. Lampard had taken a knock against Arsenal on Sunday and there had been rumours of Rooney carrying a knee injury.

David James is expected to start the match in goal. The defence may have a few surprises, with Portsmouth’s Glenn Johnson being tipped to start alongside the likes of Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Ashley Cole.

The starting midfield is likely to consist of David Bentley, Steven Gerrard, Gareth Barry and Joe Cole. Michael Owen, who has found some form over the past few weeks is tipped to start alongside Wayne Rooney.

In February, Fabio Capello got his England reign off to a winning start against Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland at Wembley.

After a slow start, Jermaine Jenas gave England the lead and Shaun Wright-Phillips put England back in front after Eren Derdiyok had equalised.

There are plenty of familiar faces in the French squad with the likes of Evra, Gallas, Diarra ,Flamini, Makelele, Anelka, Malouda and Saha. France will be looking to build up their confidence ahead of their Euro 2008 campaign.
