Just two weeks ago Goals from Matthias Floren and Emir Bajrami ended Hibs’s Intertoto Cup adventure as they were comfortably beaten by Elfsborg. The aggregate score was 4-0, which left manager Mixu Paatelainen a lot to think about.
The result didn’t come as much of a surprise to fans of the club, who finished 6th in last year’s league competition and apart from a Scottish League Cup in 2007, have not had any major successes in recent years.
In team news Steve Lovell is still yet to decide which club he would like to join, with Hibs, Kilmarnock and Falkirk all interested.
Last season Barcelona finished third in La Liga and were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage during a trophy less campaign. That was not deemed good enough by president Joan Laporta, who promoted Pep Guardiola as a replacement to Frank Rijkaard as manager.
The changes haven’t involved at just managerial level, with Guardiola making changes throughout the squad. Deco has left for Chelsea, Ronaldinho has joined Milan amongst many outgoings.
Seydou Keita, Gerard Pique, Martin Caceres, Daniel Alves and Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb have all arrive at the Nou Camp. Many of these players should be on show in the game.
