Liverpool travel to the San Siro with a two goal advantage after a late rally at Anfield in the first leg.

In the opening leg Liverpool left it very late to take control of the tie against and Inter Milan side that was reduced to 10 men.

With only thirty minutes gone Marco Materazzi was shown a red card for two clumsy challenges on Fernando Torres, but Inter Milan looked to be holding on.

But that all changed when Dirk Kuyt’s deflected shot found the back of the net with just five minutes remaining, before Steven Gerrard’s well struck shot made it 2-0 with seconds left on the clock.

It was a frantic finale for Liverpool, who had been well contained and frustrated by a superb defensive display by Inter, led at the back by the impressive Ivan Cordoba.

If Inter Milan are going to turn this tie around, they will need to emulate the home form which has been so impressive for them in the Champions League this season. They have won all three matches at home so far this season.

Inter have only lost on the one occasion at the San Siro to an English team. That defeat of course can in the 2003-2004 season when Arsenal raised more than a few eyebrows with a 5-1 win.

On the weekend Inter Milan defeated Reggina 2-0 thanks to a fourteenth minute penalty by Ibrahimovic and a goal by Burdisso just after the half hour mark.
