Calzaghe v Jones Jr Live
Roy Jones Jr earned his right to be the opponent for Joe after his victory over Felix Trinidad. Trinidad, a five-time world champion was sent to the ground on two occasions by Roy Jones Jr, who was awarded the victory by unanimous decision.
The bout was originally scheduled for September 20th, 2008, but it was rescheduled when Calzaghe injured his wrist in training. It has recieved considerable media attention including the HBO produced series 24/7 and commercials on major networks.

Yesterday both Calzaghe and Roy Jones met the weight tipping the scales at 174½lb, with a huge amount of media representatives eager to get a look at the fighters.
Calazaghe has a superb boxing record, winning each of his forty five professional fights, thirty two of them by knockout.
In his last match, he defeated Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas Nevada, to win the Ring Light Heavyweight title held by the American.
In the fight Calzaghe did not get off to a good start. with Hopkins dropped him with a right hand in the first round. However as the fight went on, Joe began to get his rhythm going and whilst blocking the majority of Bernand’s shots, according to CompuBox, he landed more punches on Hopkins than any of his previous opponents.
Roy Jones Jr’s record in boxing is also an impressive won. Out of 56 fights, he has collected fifty two wins, thirty eight by knockout, and has lost on just four occasions,
Before that victory, Jones has faced Anthony Hanshaw and Prince Badi Ajamu, winning each by unanimous decisions, collecting the IBC Light Heavyweight title and NABO Light Heavyweight title.
His last victory by technical knockout actually came in 2003 in the sixth round of the contest by the UK’s Cliton Woods, which was back in 2002.
