LLast weekend Manchester United were shocked at the level of performance by hit and miss Middlesbrough and could only manage a 2-2 draw at the Riverside Stadium.

Ronaldo gave United the lead and all was looking well, but Boro’s Afonso Alves’ double strike gave Manchester United plenty to think about. But with just over fifteen minutes left to play, Rooney turned in Ji-Sung Park’s cross to salvage a point.

Those were the first points that Man United had dropped in the league since they were beaten at Old Trafford by their rivals Manchester City.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits his side’s whole season now hinges on beating Manchester United. During the build up to the game he commented “For us the game on Sunday is the game of the season. If we do not win this game we have no chance…..We will fight until the last second of the championship.”
Last weekend a goal by Bendtner was enough to earn Arsenal a 1-1 draw after Peter Crouch had given Liverpool the lead.
Arsenal are in third place, six points behind Manchester United and three points behind Chelsea.
This season’s reverse fixture ended in a 2-2 draw. A Gallas own goal on the stroke of half time put United in front, but saw the lead cancelled by a fine strike by Fabregas. Ronaldo looked to have won the game for Man United with a goal with just eight minutes to play, but Gallas made amended for his earlier error and squeezed the ball home in stoppage time.
