Newcastle United captain Michael Owen says the club’s poor form has hit the players’ confidence as the Magpies try to avoid being sucked into a relegation battle.

The Magpies have not won under manager Kevin Keegan and are only six points above the relegation zone.

However, Newcastle captain Owen insists there is no panic in the Newcastle ranks, with 11 games left to play.

Blackburn’s good season has been based on determination and team spirit, having collected sixteen points in the league from loosing positions. Manager Mark Hughes has also used only twenty one players this season.

In the reverse fixture this season, Blackburn Rovers beat Newcastle United 3-1, with two goals from Bentley and a stoppage time goal from Kerimoglu. Obi Martins has put Newcastle infront on the 47th minute.
