In team news for Manchester City winger Martin Petrov will miss the game after the Bulgarian failed to recover from a hamstring injury. Midfield man Michael Johnson is also a major doubt with a groin problem.
Record signing Robinho is in the squad and is expected to make his European debut for the club.
