Rangers welcome bitter rivals Celtic to Ibrox in a game that many people are calling a title decider!

Rangers and Celtic finally face each other in 2008 after the previous two arrangements had to be cancelled. The original fixture of 2nd January was cancelled as a mark of respect following the death of Motherwell captain Phil O’Donnell.

It was rescheduled for 23 January but that needed to be changed due Rangers’ Scottish Cup tie with East Stirlingshire.

Last weekend Rangers overcame Hibs at Ibrox thanks to goals from Jean-Claude Darcheville and Nacho Novo.

Darcheville put Rangers ahead after 40 minutes with a superb strike and Nacho Novo capitalised on a Chris Hogg mistake to drill in a sharp finish from 14 yards.

That victory left Rangers three points ahead of Celtic, with a game more to play.

During the build up to the game, winger DaMarcus Beasley says he is hopeful of returning to action before the end of the season. Beasley has been missing after suffering knee ligament damage against Stuttgart in the Champions League in November.

In team news for Celtic, Japanese winger Koki Mizuno may be inline to make his full team debut. The 22-year-old signed in January but a series of reserve game postponements delayed his debut until last week.

Last weekend Scott McDonald netted his 20th league goal of the season as Celtic ended a run of four games without a victory.

The three nil scoreline against Gretna was completed with goals Vennegoor of Hesselink and Georgios Samaras.
