This will be the first time the Republic Of Ireland will play a match since Giovanni Trapattoni was named manager the team.
Back in Febuary the former Italy coach agreed a two-year deal and left Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, with his salary partly funded by entrepreneur Denis O’Brien, one of Ireland’s richest men.
With changes to happen with the squad over time, it was revealed that Robbie Keane will continue his role as captain, the assistant manger Liam Brady revealed in April.
Steve Finnan and Andy O’Brien were also approached in a bid to coax them out of international retirement.
Paddy Kenny and Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland, who were not involved in Steve Staunton’s latter days as boss, were included in the squad.
Big things are expected from the latest management team and with the World Cup qualifiers beginning in September, the Irish hope their team can qualify for a tournament for the first time since 2002.
