Spain qualified for the competition by finishing top of Group F ahead of the likes of Sweden, Northern Ireland and Denmark.

In team news for Russia, Guus Hiddink is without key playmaker Andrei Arshavin and striker Pavel Pogrebnyak.
Arshavin is suspended while Pogrebnyak has been ruled out of the tournament with a knee injury.
