Chelsea and Tottenham contest the 48th League Cup final, and the second successive all-London affair.

Tottenham of course booked their place in the final following a supoerb 5-1 win over Arsenal in the second leg of the semi-final.

Tottenham won the competition when it was known as the Worthington Cup in 1999, and were the losing finalists to Blackburn in 2002

Tottenham could be without Michael Dawson and Kevin-Prince Boateng, who are both struggling with hamstring injuries. However Pascal Chimbonda should be fit as should Ledley King after missing a month of football with a knee injury.

Chelsea haver a superb recent record in the competition, having lifted the trophy twice in the last three years. Last year they defeated Arsenal by a 2-1 scoreline.

Chelsea had to overcome a tricky semi final tie against Everton to arrive at the final, but it was a challenge that they came through succesfully.

For you statistitions: Petr Cech, Ricardo Carvalho, Claude Makelele and Didier Drogba could all equal Bruce Grobbelaar’s record of three league Cup wins by a foreign player if they overcome Tottenham.

In team news for Chelsea, Frank Lampard and ohn Terry could the game, despite being named in the match day squad.
