On Wednesday John Terry put aside his Champions League troubles to help England to friendly win over a disappointing USA side at Wembley.
John Terry rose above the crowd and headed England in front from a pinpoint David Beckham cross shortly before the end of the first half.
Gareth Barry came off the bench to set up team-mate Steven Gerrard to side foot home the second goal.
The victory meant that England returned to winning ways in Fabio Capello’s third game in charge of the side, but it was another largely uninspiring and forgettable friendly. England will be looking for a much better performance against Trinidad and Tobago, despite the rumored poor standard of the state of the pitch they will be playing on.
In team news Jermain Defoe, who was handed a first start for England in 20 months against the USA, is likely to continue to partner Wayne Rooney up front as Capello looks to forge his first choice strike partnership.
Frank Lampard may find himself relegated to the substitutes bench after having a poor game again against the USA, his replacement Gareth Barry made an instant impact and could see himself start the game alongside Steven Gerrard in midfield.
